Below are brief descriptions of the nominations:
Often referred to as the “Cuban Nelson Mandela”, Guillermo Fariñas having lasted 24 hunger strikes in Cuba defending human rights, is the caliber of person that leaves a lasting impression on everyone that respects him and his cause. Hearing his mother explain how she has planned his funeral
many times over and how his daughter admires and worries about him makes our audience value more his fight for political prisoners in Cuba.

Award winning Writer, Director and Filmmaker, Cuban-born Lilo Vilaplana talks candidly with Television Marti about his art and craft, the love for his adopted country of Colombia, and in an emotional moment reminisces about his formative years in Cuba where he yearns to one day see his friends and family in a country free of dictatorship. Few artists who have had to abandon the island speak with such clarity and determination as Vilaplana. In this interview, he defines how he uses his talent to support the dissident movement and freedom of thought for a more pluralistic Cuba.

Grandes Historias. Promotional spot of radio program Grandes Historias (Great Stories), a space dedicated to the dissemination of great works of world literature hosted by Morell de Oro.

Piramideo. Animated commercial about the SMS-based social media platform that helps Cubans connect, converse, and share information free from government control.
